I used to listen to this in my room when I was a teenager
(along with everything else The Cure ever put out, for that matter)
and every time I did, my dad, in his thick Slavic accent, would ask the same question:
Why does this man have a hot potato in his mouth?
Aaw.
Much more recently, someone online made a comment summing up their pre-pop stuff, perfectly:
"I love it when the Cure are being all decadent and gloomy.
It's fabulous for us sinners who feel guilt but like to be naughty anyway."
.

Keiji Haino, Oren Ambarchi, and Stephen O'Malley..... talk about an all star lineup
"He described this initial impetus as like discovering that they both were looking at the same intriguing specific tropical fish, with attempts to understand it leading to a huge ferocious formalism he characterizes as a shark that leapt out of the tank."
