Comes highly recommended for bus rides in winter nights...
@Trentk - if you are still looking for those jazz records:
- Fire! Orchestra - Exit (and pretty much everything they released along the way)
- Maats Gustafson & Paal Nilsen-Love - Sin Gas
- definitely the mentioned new Matana Roberts record
- new Bohren album is enjoyable
I'm full of tough love for dnb, going from deep infatuation when I fell for it as a club kid
to utter loathe when dj's and editors went from being curators of beautiful art to celebrities
and mongers of dumbfuckery of 00's.. Now it's 2014 and we're here, with various people trying to cope with vast leap in technology and mentality translating it into art, yet I still think that most stuff from that certain point of time two decades ago is way more inspired
and fresh than most what you hear today period
I stumbled upon shiny darkly by accident some weeks ago at our record store. gave it a try and went home with the disc a few moments later. if you are into gazy rockers, these guys deliver.
also, i love their name.
@333 - that was a really good LP, I wrote a rather positive piece on it. Although it got quite repetitive after a while it really shows how much potential Kerridge has considering how young he is.
Had a Pete kind of day, Yellow Swans in the morning and solo in the afternoon. I'm in costant ave of how good Punk Authority sounds, it's amazing how it manages to still get so much dynamics going on despite the obvious clipping. Work of art as far as handling this kind of audio goes.
