Florida post-punk outfit Merchandise have always had a Morrissey thing going on, and by the sound of their new track "Green Lady" they still do, but the majestic new romantic production here makes it feel like the best of the John Hughes film soundtrack era, and yet something with a certain, contemporary sort of muscle. It's beautiful, and very repeatable, and comes from their forthcoming album After The End, out August 25th via 4AD.

Arca's production, alongside Clams Casino, Emily Haynie, etc. gives Tahlia's voice suspenseful and dramatic counterpoint, and she immerses herself therein gorgeously. You're right to think "Two Weeks" and "Video Girl" are standouts, though "Pendulum" and "Give Up" also cut to the quick, and even secondary tracks like "Closer" and "Kicks" would be crown jewels in most any other debut album's collection. LP1, for me, fulfills hopes that her debut would be a proper statement -- it's not really an expansion on EP2, though she didn't need one (yet). Happy she exists.

Probably, he was at first more into the "beatbattle" scene, now he is a party DJ. I mean why the fuck would you collaborate with Jeremih?! Thats like Burial collaborating with Trey Songz.. Though Shlohmo had a nice remix on Burial his Shell of Light
But this was when he still was good.
