Envy is fantastic. Really wish I could see them live, but their US tours are few and far between.

Enslaved - Thoughts like Hammers & Ethica Odini

With their new album out in 6 weeks, I'm revisiting some Enslaved. On their previous jaunt around the US for RIITIIR I caught them closing the tour at the Bowery Ballroom http://www.sz-mag.com/news/2013/02/e...wery-ballroom/ I intend to do so again.

You definitely should. They haven't stagnated like most the 2nd wave black metal bands that are still together. They are continually tweaking their sound, maturing towards a more 'progressive' sound but remaining true to their roots.

ISA marked the initial change in sound and you can really hear the gradual development in their songwriting with each successive album.
