Yeah, that troupe of Finns actually swung through my midwestern-ass neck of the woods as well. One of my fave shows ever, though it is probably worth stating that I have a tattoo of an illustration of one of the Runos of the Kalevala as well...</p>

Anywho, kept it low key tonight. Listened to the most recent archive of dj /rupture's mudd up, a spin of Q1.1 on Basic Channel and then, um, The Notorious Byrd Brothers.

Merzbow ? "Animal Magnetism" , probably my favorite album of his, post-analogue (hence, all digital). I count myself a fan and this one album has practically all I am looking for in a solid Merzbow release.

also, dj/rupture is great. i love his gold teeth thief and radio mix, but i haven't caught up on more of his recent output. i was fortunate to see him open up for the ex and his 3 turntable set up was awesome.</p>

i'm not a merzbow aficionado, but his set at the knitting factory was ear bleedingly loud.

Joey... I'll try to take a pic of it sometime for the tattoos thread. Haven't taken any specific pics of it since my laptop was stolen some months back. It's of the demon elk of Hiisi conjured in Runo 13.</p>

Heh, I forgot that Davenport toured with the Finns... a greatly missed local institution, them. I'm sure that's the whole and only reason that the tour passed through here.</p>

I'm quite devoted to /rupture's weekly radio show on WFMU. Very lucky that it's released as a podcast, since I'm not supposed to stream stuff at work. He's been on a major cumbia kick lately and just keeps pumping out some totally wild shit.</p>

I know it's a different Hecker, but has anyone heard that Vainio/Hecker/Haswell Herzog remix thing? I've only caught some little snippets... sounds like some nice soundblooms, though.</p>

Currently dipping my toes into the burgeoning UK funky scene via a Marcus Nasty dejavufm set Blackdown linked to... it's definitely helping alleviate the grind of work...
