Tracing the most intimate contours of psychological space with Clarice Lispector, and the inner geometry of physical space (string theory) with Shing-Tung Yau. I was worried Yau's book would be too pop-sci (I'm familiar with contemporary geometry and not afraid of equations)... but I'm getting alot out of it b/c my knowledge of physics isn't as strong as my knowledge of math.

reading this these days
Willful Blindness by Margaret Heffernan
really interesting.
It's human nature to blind ourselves from the truth that might hurt us - that might not affirm our values, our worldview, our very fragile subjectives.
Why could Catholic churches not see their abusing priests?
Why could mortgagees take on some many debts?
"We make ourselves powerless when we pretend we don't know"
"Only when we confront facts and fears can we achieve real power and unleash our capacity for change.""Things you own, end up owning you." --- Tyler Durden [FightClub 1999]

Reading the Stranger right now but does anyone have recommendations for someone who likes to read Henry Miller?
Finished almost all of his books....was thinking of going for some Anais Nin but have not read anything by her and don't know where to start.
