Magician have you read Burroughs' Naked Lunch, if not i would suggest that.

I bought a copy of Cormac's "The Road" and it's been lying on my desk for months now...still haven't read it, i feel ashamed because in this time i've passed that up for some much junkier reads.

Thanks man, I checked this out, it was pretty good. I wish I could write like that. I wonder what inspired this dude during the creative process that led to the writing of this poem....the first sequence is amazing.

The first sequence is the best part, no doubt. :-)

I found "Art in Theory" for $2 at a flea market. It's $100 in Denmark! That is a true holy grail!

Yeah I have yet to touch Burroughs, Kerouac, Ginsberg et al. that should be a good goal. Bukowski too.

The Road is very readable. I can pretty much guarantee you'll finish it in like a day or too - better get it in before the film comes out!

readable is good. Norwegian Wood is one of my favorite books simply for the reason it was readable enough to finish in more or less a day.

Only read the introduction and half a first chapter (on the subway) - looks really good. Very gripping and a very New York City book. And well, very timely, because it's about the bond market crash in the 80s and the fall of the Wall St. masters of the universe. History repeats itself.

Did you read Barbarians at the gate? Not great writing by any means but quite interesting.
