yeah i am going to read mount analogue (on my shelf) after i get through wind up bird chronicle (100 pages left) and cyclonopedia (about 150 left!); i arrived at daumal through jodorowsky as well.
henri michaux looks like a kindred soul. will look into it, thanks!broken mirror, white terror

daumal's fascinating isn't he? and he's just the tip of a larger iceberg of personalities which hovered around and outside of the breton / aragon junta, notably his immediate circle of comrades -- the simplistes / le grand jeu -- gilbert-lecomte, vailland, de bouly, sima (great great painter), de reneville, henry, et al.
gilbert-lecomte in particular is worth checking out for further psychonautic expeditions.
and yea, glad to see michaux mentioned here. a kindred spirit for sure. light through darkness was a long-standing bedroom companion a few years ago. the 5th chapter "chasm-situations" -- oh boy, a real page turner (randomly if you wish) :)
interestingly, the local library has it shelved in the science / medical section amongst other books on psychological observations of substance abuse.Last edited by klangspiel; 01-25-2009, 07:40 PM.
