amazing! i'm glad i'm here then. i just rediscovered all my pewter figuerines while i was rummaging through boxes. Found this really interesting dagger necklace with pagan runes on it that i completely forgot about. kind of great.

Re-reading American Psycho in preparation for The Informers and to balance it, re-reading for the umpteenth time Lieblose Legenden by Wolfgang Hildesheimer, which is brilliant.
Also, I keep trying to read Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas by Tom Robbins, which I know is going to be great, but second person narrative is hard to adjust to... anyone read it?

Now I have to return some videotapes.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

Still am. I considered putting the AD&D 2nd ed player's handbook as one of my top 10 books ever in that other thread.

Fleursdumal.org is dedicated to the French poet Charles Baudelaire (1821 - 1867), and in particular to Les Fleurs du mal (Flowers of Evil). The definitive online edition of this masterwork of French literature, Fleursdumal.org contains every poem of each edition of Les Fleurs du mal, together with multiple English translations — most of which are exclusive to this site and are now available in digital form for the first time ever.

                Definitive source for that book.

The Omnivore's Dilemma - Michael Pollan. Fascinating.
Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

If you consider The Lady with the Small Dog a good love story, then I guess you should read The Hero of Our Time by Lermontov

That brings back memories, The Hero of Our Time. I read that in a beginner Russian class that tried to teach the language through reading literature. It took forever but was pretty instructive.
