even the archaic and idiosyncratic language/dialogue/descriptions aside, it's a pretty hard but still lurid and picturesque book to visualize (BM). Oddly enough when I started reading it again a few days ago, whenever the judge came up i pictured either kunk, Locke from Lost, or some combo of the two.

that's interesting because i also conjured up locke from lost. if i had to cast that character i might try william forsythe thinking back to his role in american me.

haha russians are such fans of patricia kaas it's ridiculous (well they used to be anyway, I haven't been in a while)

finally finished Blood Meridian. That book is the devil. A masterpiece, but the ending left me feeling kind of sick. Last 100 or so pages was a spiralling tour de force descent into hell though.

and the "War is God" speech gotta be one of the most memorable monologues in literary history.

yeah this was a genuinely difficult book to finish...i have a pretty strong stomach but even the text on this was too graphic in nature.

one of those books that was great to experience, but not something I think I could revisit any time soon.

How does Bllod Meridian compare to The Road ?
I've only read the latter and was thoroughly impressed
