I read it as a teenager and found it too sentimental for my taste
should probably revisit, but might be too old for it now...

Almost finished with Blood Meridian. Sadly, I don't think I'm a fan.

Probably going to start Julia Childs My Life in France when I'm through with BM.

Is there a particular English translation of Oblomov I should look for?

Yesterday I read a review of a new translation of Oblomov, by Marian Schwartz. The review made the novel itself sound amazing, but didn't give me much of an idea of how the new translation compares to the older one that's out there. I'll probably just give the new one a shot.

So seeing I was halfway through Snuff (Chuck Palahnuick), I got tired of the fact that it had sat on my shelf for a month unfinished.
Ended up finishing the rest off in two hours...it was good, but it felt kind of rushed towards the end (3/4) of the book. Ending left a bit to desire..I dunno..maybe it needs to sink in.

Funny thing..I get that feeling with quite a few authors.
I think I also find that I usually cant read two books from the same author sequentially...even if its a trilogy or something. (Although I may at some point in my life try to cover the entire Wheel of Time series straight through...)

In either case I started 1984 yesterday...one of the classics...looking forward to it.
