Gents, I have a lunch meeting in Hayes Valley - any restaurant of note from the ones mentioned above?

Absinthe is very good, and has a rather safe menu. High quality bistro food.

Lers Ros Thai is supposed to be excellent. I haven't made it.

Plaj is very very good, despite being a hotel restaurant. I have had a few great pre-symphony meals here.

Rich Table was already mentioned.

i think stacks was pretty good, fritz and patxis pizza (chicago style) are all good. +1 to absinthe, nice bar...

oh also blue bottle is right around the corner.

Scary? No way. Very unique, though. It's a bit kitsch, but the amazing decorations of many of the rooms more than make up for it. It's also great for photo shoots.

looks scary in a good way, if bad taste could also be creepy. thanks for mentioning this place, never heard of it and definitely want to check it out.

Heading to SF for the first time in over 10 years on Wednesday. Admittedly I didn't read this entire thread, but anything I should definitely check out while I'm there. I know about The Archive and Downtown of course, but is there anything else in terms of shops? I've already got reservations at The French Laundry and Nopa so at least food is covered (but I'll still gladly take more suggestions!)

No stores sadly, mission/valencia area cleaned up a lot so it has good food places and bars... pm me if you have any specific questions

Damn, really? Michael told me it was going to be Alexander McQueen. Varvatos makes much more sense though.
