Not sure if it's been mentioned here before, but one of my favorite furniture showrooms is Ralph Pucci in NYC. If you're into interior design and taking a trip to NYC you can't miss it.

RALPH PUCCI International is a luxury furniture, lighting and mannequin company. Artists and designers represented include Herve Van Der Straeten, India Mahdavi, Eric Schmitt, Pierre Paulin and more.

/\ So bizarre. I just went last week for the first time. Not to look at furniture though - to see Turbeville's photography.

              Beautiful space isn't it?

Another one that mixes art and furniture that you need to visit - Barry Friedman in Chelsea
Fine and decorative arts gallery located in New York City.

The furniture is all produced in small editions. It's hard to find anything in there that I don't love.

Desk lamps, let's hear your suggestions. I already have two strong contenders but I want to see other designs.

Forgot to say I'll need it to pour over papers or work w. my computers so I'll need something less atmospheric.

I know this may sound banal, but I will always love the Artemide Tolomeo. It's beyond classic, and if you ever get tired of it you can always resell it for about 70% of its value. The Tizios are pretty cool as well. There must be an Artemide store/dealer in Montreal, so you can check them out IRL.

I'm quite familiar with the Tolomeo (but prefer the Tizio) but I might get a floor Jielde for another room (I'm making some minor changes to my place and one of my lamps died). I don't want too many "classics".

I'm considering the Luceplan Fortebraccio in all white or a vintage Jumo by Gray. As you can see I'm really unsure on what I'll get.

Will also purchase new working desk, haven't decided if it will be white or glass.

Might get this or something simpler (Scandinavian probably):

I briefly considered those stainless steel classics but I think white is my interior design fetish colour so I dunno.

You can get either of them here

I have a Lumina Daphine on my desk (in black):

it works great turned upwards / towards the wall for indirect light as well.
