that's what i keep hearing, but since I didn't see Spirited Away, and I hardly remember Totoro, I didn't have anything to compare it to. But I'm also just a sucker for cuteness.

A guy told me about this film called Soy Cuba (I Am Cuba) from '64. Noé himself told that he found inspiration for Enter the Void in this one. I haven't seen the whole film myself, but it really has amazing cinematography:

The last film I watched was Heart of Glass by Herzog. I doubt it's one of his best, definitely not as good as Even Dwarfs Started Small. But of course a film in which most of the actors were hypnotised before shooting can't be totally uninteresting.Comment

we had something of a brief excursus into "holocaust films" in this thread not too long ago, didn't we? well, wiseman's the last letter (la dernière lettre) is another fine example of a great holocaust film. highly recommended.
