True Romance is a ripoff of Badlands, and...

    Terrence Malick>Tarantino ;p

    Watch it, it's amazing.

Watched Eastern Promises. What a crock of shit. Cronenberg has really lost it.

With all of this talk of Mr. Lynch on here, I decided to Netflix all of the Twin Peaks series for a rewatch.

True dat. I was so disappointed. Cronenberg hasn't been himself since Existenz. But I still cherish his old stuff: The Brood, Rabid, Shivers, Scanners, and especially Videodrome.

just watched Sleepless in Seattle, Saturday afternoon movie. Shit. I am such a sucker for sappy romance movies of all kinds. If only romance existed like in the movies.

just saw "possibility of the island"--my lovely michel houllebeqe directed his first---not bad but slow ,and kinda disappointing in the end, book was so much more cruel and funny...,,,,i guess i just prefer page to the screen...

                    Bruce Weber Let's get Lost

Shinya Tsukamoto Tetsuo, the iron man (not for the faint hearted)

Dany Boon Bienvenue chez les ch'tis

                    Pieter Kuijpers TBS

Would definitely recommend the two latter title: especially one of the best French comedies released over the past few years.

Faust: what made you think Eastern Promises was such a disappointment?

if only you knew the list of movies that i watched on TBS (hahaha) today... total sappy romance day all around. now if only i could find one of those men. if it exists in a movie then someone had to think it, so maybe he is out there somewhere...

but i did take a break from the sap and go see Burn After Reading. I loved it, it was complete nonsensical fun.

                          recently:

                          Pasolini's Salo (criterion)
                          Shindo's Kuroneko

With all this Cronenberg talk I will have to watch my criterion Naked lunch soon.

Watched Oldboy (올드보이) on the weekend.
let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.

Sounds like Heidegger got to your brain. Oh and I suggest Korean dramas; cheesy romance galore.
