Going to watch Black Hawk Down today for the third time. First time on Blu-Ray though, and I know the sound effects are insane. Woot!

As for the Korean dramas, watch "winter sonata", I was told it's a great introduction to the genre. I guess I sorta liked it.

She looks exactly the same and quite attractive if you like that 30s-40s curvaceous figure. The movie just isn't memorable in any way, especially to someone who has seen most Allen movies.

I’m appreciating Honoré more and more and this partially successful adaptation of the reputably inadaptable George Bataille novel only serves to reinforce my assessment. I’m not going to dwell on the plot but suffice to say it concerns a son that gains entry into the wonderful world of immoral (not amoral, hence the conflicted character) debauchery through his wicked mother. The quietly observant camera and relaxed montage convey a non-judgmental gaze that is refreshing considering a source material ripe for spectacular decrees of moral outrage.

completely amazing stuff. I saw the whole trilogy back to back ~2 years ago at film forum and became instantly fanatical about refn's work. he's currently working on a cinema verite styled viking epic and has a new crime picture coming out later this year called "Bronson," the teaser for which can be found here
