I also found a copy of Dark City in my housemates room and loved it
Russian cinema is dead. Dark City is awesome.

Just saw Righteous Kill. It did not live up to the hype.

And anyway, who ever said photography was the truth? Cinema could be a bias, manipulative misrepresentation 24 time a second.

FYI, for those of you who have Blu-Ray, Dark City director's cut is out. Just stuck it on top of my Netflix cue.

i think what draws me particularly to A Bout De Souffle and
Pierrot Le Fou is they are occupied by these charming moving
characters who are hardly concerned by the events which
happened, and experience and act out of obscure events which
are poorly linked as the portion of the any-space-whatever that
                  they traverse.

Much in line in some of the works of Chabrol, Rohmer, Rivette
                  and Truffaut ...

Well they put forward "auteur" theory so that'd be fitting to look at them through the prism they've created. Not sure I agree that Rivette characters have much in common with Godardian ones though, it's hard to neatly cut the Godard knot and have it fit neatly enough to compare it to other filmaker's body of work.

Try Paris Nous Appartient and L'Armour Fou,
                          it might become clearer ...

                          see it ...

Just sitting down to The Visitor with a couple of bottles of La Fin Du Monde. If any good it will of course require a revisit to The Station Agent.

hunger is probably my most anticipated film of the year... can't wait.

also finally got around to watching the confidential report (for lack of a better term) version of mr arkadin... still loved it.
