if he is indeed making two more of these, hope he hires a writer.

I have a hunch Avatar 2 & 3 as well as Battle Angel aren't going to happen.

Great story telling excellent filming but I cannot seem to get totally into the story. Toni Servillo as Andreotti is excellent as well.
Maybe I just need to brush up on Italian Political history to get more into it

yeah so much of the film was stony/psychedelic. am i the only one that noticed some awkward and perhaps unintentional parallels to the situation in the middle east?

Question been raised, what would Tarkovsky do if he had 3d effects like Cameron had for avatar.

I strongly believe, judging by his background and how Russian cinema used to think, that it wouldn't ever be heavily used.

In modern Holywood cinema, cgi is used to disguise utter lack of talent and artistic worth. First time I saw those blue cgi creatures screaming some "for freedom" nonsence I understood that it is best not to bother at all.

Rented A History of Violence. Not too familiar with Cronenberg, have only seen (and enjoyed) Eastern Promises, to this day can't stomach sitting through all of Crash. Am interested to see how the film treats its subject matter, for some reason I never really associated Cronenberg as someone to make a straight up action flick although the sauna fight scene in EP was one for the ages.

Michael Haneke's The Piano Teacher - I love this movie. Isabelle Huppert's performance is one of my favorites ever from an actress...out of the three Haneke's I've seen (along with Funny Games U.S. and Cache) I enjoyed this one the best by far.

I've had this on DVD for quite some time now but it's still in its wrapping. Really should get around to watching it soon.

I'm preparing myself for a round of Sátántangó. I don't even know if I ought to have any particular expectations for this one, I just assume I won't be able to get through it in a sitting. Absolutely loved Werckmeister Harmonies though. One of my favorite movies.

let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.

the opening sequence (the first 10 mins or so) of kárhozat (damnation) is what cinema is all about. hell, i think this is what life is all about but who would, or want to, believe me? :)

haha, I think the cosmic dance opening of Werckmeister is the best opening of a film I've seen so far. Will save the opening of damnation until I can watch the whole thing!

check out videodrome which is by far his best along with scanners, shivers, rabid, and the brood. his later material falls flat for me.
