Was at L'Eclaireur today and could see the new shipment.

- new leather on the boots is a fail imo : soft of course, but looks cheap too. Colour is plain, and is missing the shades of the previous cordovan.

- couldn't try on the trousers (spiral and diagonal), since they're too small (I'm a true 48 and couldn't fit in the 48, my regular size in CCP is 50). BUt what we saw with Fuuma didn't give us the envy to wait for a bigger size. Fabric is so stiff that I could hardly walk with the diagonal, or like Frankenstein.

- dipped leather is nice, very thick and heavy, and the dipping is fun, but the fit isn't good (at the armpit), tried on a 48, should maybe size down.

- regular jacket : why not, 48 was allright, but too short at the sleeves and the waist.

Conclusion : same as osn19.

Seems like the CCP backlash has begun...

I want to see/feel a bigger part of this collection before judging.

I fit perfectly in the spiral jean, in a 46, which is my regular size.
It's all about the legs i guess.
If you got spaghetti legs they'll fit just fine...
Waist size & fabric stiffness is very much like the box jean imo.
Got the J-pant as well and that also demand very skinny legs, but are forgiving with generous waist and very soft fabric.

Don't know if the spiral jean will rip as soon as you try sitting though.
But that's always the case with CCP.
The fear of destroying the insanely priced garment you just bought, and being very annoyed 'bout that same fear, cause it's ridiculous to be afraid of ripping clothing that is supposed to, qualitywise, be the best out there, and considering the price it would be scandalous if it didn't even hold up for getting down tying the laces (on your insanely expensive derbies).

The spiral zip boot has thick and stiff leather, like previous seasons.
Only warning is the shaft is slightly more narrow than before.
Real good for wearing boot covered by skinny pant.
Real bad when wanting pant tucked in boot.
Doesn't really matter to me though since i always want to wear pant tucked in boot, but always decide (by mirror reflection in elevator on the way out) that it doesn't look good on me (the skinny legs again i guess)...

No, but seriously i got my spiral side zips delivered last wednesday, and they are stiffer than my '08 side zip boots.
The toe box also has a more pronounced upwards tilt than any CCPs i seen before.

The leather treatment/colour on my pair is beautiful and in every way comparable with previous season.
They might also be a bit narrower in fit overall as someone mentioned before.

I really like the dipped leather jacket and the "stiff" fabrics. Its exactly what I would expect from CCP. The fabrics are rigid, but this shouldn't come as any kind of surprise to anyone. I for one like the texture and weight. Yes, the leather is very soft on the boots but I certainly wouldn't say they look cheap. The seam work definitely pushes the envelope, but I have my reservations about it. IMHO, last year's invisi-seam is far superior to the current iteration. All in all, the collection is far from a failure, but..though it breaks my heart to say it....I am left wanting nothing.
