Notorious just got a custom pair in horse (you can see them in the archive thread), and the rubber on those is black black...
also darklands just got a batch of 09 reissue sneaks in yesterday, and from speaking to campbell, he confirms they are black as per his other older dipped deliveries.....
so a bit of a mystery, but nonetheless i think the blue'ish' adds a nice dimension to the look...also flash photos are going to really exaggerate the colour difference

historically, seeing the blue tint, on either the dipped shoes or sneakers . . . has been rare. can't recall ever seeing it on the sneaks and only a few of the shoes we have sold, have had that.

Agree, his black dye is not pure black. It looks more like bluish black to me.

I don't mind the blue-ish hue. Looks good. I doubt he used it before testing the end results. There was a wide variety of limited colors and dips. If cud's were a size bigger I'd kop.

cuddly: i think the bluish hue looks way cooler than the pit black ones. and as you said, its only visible under direct light. so the effect is subtle, which i likeeeee

guess i'm very much in the minority...i don't like the blue (however subtle it may be)...if it was a monotone hue, like grey, then alright (imo)

Wasn't there a debate earlier about the picture of white CCP boots with duct tape on them? Many were criticizing the thought of covering up perfectly good leather with something else. But many seem to be a fan of these latex dipped trainers and derbies. I actually didn't mind the duct tape as the latex seems to cover a lot more of the footwear.

Agree nictan, the blue really makes the sneakers unique. The mixture of blue and black creates gradient effects, and it's cool.

Poell is a logistical genius. Run out of black, use that blue stuff we keep in the shed. Run out of leather and its down to Home Depot to get some duct tape to cover it up. No more hog hair thread? Shit, glue the last two, whatever. The mystery is in the microruptures in the fabrication process. "What happened?" Who can say? Put that in your novella and smoke it.
