I managed to see the horse at Le Royal Eclaireur about an hour ago.

Price? Given the asking prices of some of Carol's other large scale art pieces, it would be interesting to know what this lovely work is valued at. This is probably Carol's largest art work to date and being a singular piece (versus his giant frozen gloves or spiral belt rugs) it certainly is special.www.AlbertHuangMD.com - Digital Portfolio Of Projects & Designs

In a way I agree with you
at best it is interesting but I don't know what to make of it
I love his clothes but I don't know about this, but it doesn't really matter cause they clothes are a separate thing
.......again this borders on hero worship, but I guess we all need some kind of "religion"

well i have no idea what the process was for carol but to me it looks like traditional taxidermy with some slight differences. specifically, the hide being object dyed, and the model used for the horse is pretty ccp-esque (as opposed to natural). emaciated, gaunt, screaming face, head stretched forward with teeth bared. i also imagine it must be rare to find a specimen of this size, and using the entire horse carcass, meaning no synthetic materials other than eyes and probably teeth. you know, i have no idea really.
regardless this thing took time and research.
or it was just subbed out to an expert taxidermist with ccp's instructions.
edit: is it object dyed or object tanned?Last edited by cjbreed; 05-12-2011, 05:27 PM.dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective

i don't know about object tanned i thought it was just object dyed.
and i just said that to me it looks like traditional taxidermy with ccp design characteristics because it does.
but i really should stay quiet on this before i start talking about things i don't know...Last edited by cjbreed; 05-12-2011, 05:11 PM.dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective

Thanks!
As C has mentioned, it does certainly have the form/positioning in that lovely aggressive manner of CCP. Looking forward to seeing it in person :)www.AlbertHuangMD.com - Digital Portfolio Of Projects & Designs
