On another note please could anyone give me any feedback on the Buffalo fabric CCP has used to make footwear. I was just wondering how it faired against cordovan and calf for example. I remember seeing and touching a swatch book containing most of CCP's various leathers used in 2010 and was really intrigued by buffalo but never saw anything finished in that leather.

Purely interest, nothing more.

It's softer to begin with.

Not all of his goods are even made "in house". Though local, the artisans are not solely employed by Carol. Believe it or not.

the term in house is used quite loosely. it can mean anything from handling certain critical steps of production within the label to doing everything from scratch in one place. To my understanding CCP of course does a lot of development on their own, as well as some steps of manufacturing, whereas some tasks are handled at other workshops/factories. Dyeing, for example, which obviously plays a big role in their work, is more or less (I don't if its all or some) done in a dyeing company to CCP's specifications.

Yeah, I just feel a lot of members think all items are made by a small team in the CCP workshop which is of course nearly impossible. A recent post questioned if he made everything himself. They design, others manufacture but there is a watchful eye on it. Hell, maybe not. Most of my pieces need "reinforced" shortly after wear.

which/what kind of pieces need to be reinforced?

I've had so many pieces repaired (not reinforced - I wouldn't dare).

To my mind there isn't a company more diligent in looking after you after a sale.

Repaired is what I meant. I suppose it's reinforced because afterwards it normally much stronger.
