ps. it just dawned on me that rick is actually showing menswear. i registered this previously but the significance was lost till now. i think we should definitely reserve judgement till we see what he does with this forthcoming show and over the course of 2009. as my wife pointed out designers like yohji and cdg have more or less kept their initial supporters consistently happy for many years and there's no reason why rick can't do the same as long as he continues to make it difficult for fat americans like myself to wear his clothes.

I don't believe Rick is in "pursuit" of mainstream acceptance nor has he expressed a desire for keeping a dark, underground/cult image.. more than anything it's been bestowed upon him by the media. I can recall from one of his interviews where he said that he would pretty much "go with the flow" and if his brand begins to grow, he would just accommodate it.

Anyone know what the deal is with rabaya?.. I keep seeing it for sale on ebay, such as this:

is it fake rick owens? or somebody trying to leverage off his name? or just really old samples and stock?. at least in chinatown on canal street.. the watches say rolax and the hands are painted on.. this mystery is not as obvious to me.. but, I am thinking of reporting this seller to ebay as they distort my searches for real rick threads..
