i dont think its the crepe sole thats doing the damage here. thats not bad at all. its the shorn wookie feet that give me pause. but i do imagine down under it could work but thats just because all i know about AU is from the films Australia, Croc Dundee, Road Warrior, and the Thorpedo

Dick oven looks pretty shitty this season. Those canvas shoes for the price he's charging makes me want to cut dick right off.

I'm liking some of the collection but definitely some weird pieces. I mostly stick to the things I like though; shirts, leather, pants, and boots/sneakers.

I will be at RO today probably and will take a look. Worse comes to worst, you can shave them! I disagree on soles though - leather soles allows your feet to breathe and cools them- rubber does not. It's like wearing mini ovens on your feet. Just put a protective rubber layer and you are good. Personally I feel that putting a rubber sole on designer boots is a fucking cop out - especially on a $1200-1400 pair.

to rick's credit those soles are nearly indestructible. the soles on my ankle boots are as good as new and i've had them since the first day of the season. and they are super comfortable. i find that the sole (be it leather or rubber) makes far less of an impact on comfort than the overall construction of the shoe. but we have now entered inane questions territory...

i wonder how easy it is for a cobbler to resole,crepe soles? the soles on my ro sneaks are still very much intact with heavy use over the past year 1/2, but in the future just for thought..

sphoxx made a post about his RO sneaker soles. he had a cobbler cut out the heel section of the sole and fitted it with a more sturdy piece of rubber. looked pretty good to me.

Supposedly it's very easy because of the boot like construction of the trainers.

Also if you hate the crepe soles on the boots they can be replaced with a leather sole. One of the SA's at the store had a pair of the doc style combat boots resoled in that fashion, it was an aesthetic improvement but I doubt if they are an improvement in quality. He told me the cobbler removes the crepe part and then just bonds the leather to the sole.
