I tend to like the restraint of the vovk jacket. Rick I think can over-design some pieces and this is a great example. The fabric choice is perfect but then it's diluted by the unnecessary details.

I found the simplicity and restraint of design detail in CRUST absolutely mind-blowing, I hope he continues in this direction even more-so, it gives his overall aesthetic more confidence.

I think the Vovk one is much better. Too much going on in the denim part of that jacket for me.

I don't like the buttons on the Vovk one at all. They just grab my attention way too much and make the piece look cheap IMO.

My vote is for the Rick version as the detailing is a little more subtle.

i like the OV version more because it doesn't appear to (sorry i'ts early and i'm tired and there is glare) have waist pockets, which always ruin a denim jacket for me (unless they are vertical/hidden).

looks like he has a slight "pot-belly" here. i have one too, so maybe if i were a little taller and a bit more hansome i could be an OV model too!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, the rick Jacket is a better cut jacket than the OV. after all rick was a patternmaker before he became a designer..............which is always a good thing.

Both aren't perfect. The buttons on the OV one gives me the feel of a Varsity jacket. And i don't like the waist pockets on the RO version.

I do like my denim jackets with waist pockets, except I agree with you that they should always be vertical, easier to access and always look nicer that way............
