the oki-ni model makes everything look fucking awful:

tried this on. very feminine. the piece billows/balloons out at the hips, which are obscured by the arms. they dont show you the horse and buggy you need to acquire to rock it. not feeling it. can't somebody just make a dope winter coat?

I know I can't persuade Pnidz, but cabl3, look to Ann. Her coats this season are beautiful. Many of them are not fully lined though, so I don't know if I'd call them proper winter coats, but we've been having mild winters in New York.

Pnod, what about the old long MA+ coat Atelier has (there is also a new version)? It looks really beautiful (there, I said it!).

i do have some mild emotions for anne every once in a while.
i tried on the MA+ coat, but i think it arrived the same moment the ccp did so i was pretty distracted. the ma coats tend to be geared toward fall, ie there is no closure across the chest. but the new one did have a buttoning mechanism, but something about the cut was too fitted for my liking. i'm looking for something thats not a double take of the fishtail. i'll take another look at it anyway.

Better, pnod, I have one in my possession :-) It's this one (really shitty pics on LVR). Then there is also the hooded cashmere one at Barneys, but it's definitely not a substantial coat (the cutaway wraparound cut is really beautiful though). The Forme D'Expression biker coat is nice as well (but I guess also not very heavy). Ok, maybe we should move this discussion to Arrivals and Reviews.

it doesn't help that oki-ni looks like they just took it right out of the package and took pictures of it. Maybe a quick ironing would have made it look a bit nicer.

Pnod, are you sure that the 2 coats above (Oki one and dom coat from RO gallery) are the same? Or have you tried both on and they have the same fit?

I bet it's the same fit - the angle doesn't show it on the second but it definitely looks like it's billowing at / above the hips like the oki-ni jacket.

That's too bad, the boiled wool one looks so good to me. Maybe it just has to be worn open and you won't get so much of the billowing effect.
