    Re: RICK OWENS

Yea, makes you wonder how fast the jackets/coats are going to go for Spring.

New RO sneaker? The outsole looks the same and I also noticed in a few pictures from various showroom pictures, there appears to be a low top sneaker that the model is wearing.

Wouldn't mind seeing a new style sneaker from him.

That's what I thought at first (especially because of the upper vamp stitching) but the outsole is completely different and the side panel is more angular while the Vans logo is very rounded. Plus, Vans doesn't use good leather like that on the heels of their shoes.

            Re: RICK OWENS

Well, that Vans style motif would definitely work with the stripe/swoosh motif that Rick favored this past Spring.

I can see it now - RO x Vans, available in dust or drkshdw...

              Re: RICK OWENS

Oh boy. I hate to say it, but I'm walking when that bandwagon comes to give a ride. Aside from the sole and logo modifications (which I can only assume is to elude infringement). I see nothing that makes it special or a vast improvement from the original. The material selection alone just won't justify the exorbitant price tag that I'm sure it will carry. Of course this is all just MHO. Granted, in all fairness, I haven't seen the profile yet. And that is the point at which I found an appreciation for the high tops from last season. I just can't foresee it happening here though.

                Re: RICK OWENS

I was joking, of course. I wouldn't want it to happen - I like the fact that Rick doesn't cowtow to anyone else but his own vision. Those kinds of collaborations seem contrary to that... unless he's already done one I don't know about.

Oh, I know Bakla. The post was a response to the shoes pictured and not the fictitious collaboration scenario you depicted in your post. I thought that was funny. [75]

                    Re: RICK OWENS

Just picked up a long-standing RO piece:

                    http://web.mac.com/ateliernewyork/iW...s/IMG_1456.jpg

Mine's in a rusty/smoky brown colour, the pic is just taken from atelier's website.

I actually have a question about care for these shirts... would I be
able to soak it in water and lay it out to dry to shrink the material
somewhat? It's stretched out slightly too big after only two days of
                    wear.

my s/s one has stretched a bit as well.I can't remember what the washing instructions say, but its cotton so I'd assume its water washable? I havent washed mine yet.

soaking it might retract it a bit, but be careful because while its wet it also stretches easily.

what I do with some knits is I tumble dry them in a net bag at a low temperature for like 5 minutes, that kind of shrinks them to the original form. howeverthis really depends on the tumbledryer and the garment so I wouldn't advice doing this unless you're sure of both. I know mine can be adjusted to a really low temperature and I only do it on cotton knits.

                        Re: RICK OWENS

The sales rep from AB advised to hand wash in lukewarm, not cold or hot, water and then roll them up in a towel to soak up excess water. Afterwards, dry them flat on a towel. He said refrain from putting them in the dryer as that will decrease their lifespan. Hope that helps!

                              Re: RICK OWENS

i was looking at an old issue of British GQ earlier (the one w/ Lily Allen on the cover), and they featured an S/S 08 Rick Owens knit top (sweater?) that was black with some white diagonal stripe patterning going on. It looked pretty interesting, would anyone happen to have any pics of that full piece? Thanks
