Very cool mask... I'm almost positive that Rick must have been influenced by old photographs of JoJo the dog faced boy... one of the old famous sideshow performers:
i think he is succeeding at most of the elements of that statement. but not so much with the sports/street rick. i guess its just a personal opinion that that aspect of his creative expression has been played out and the grungy rockstar sins of the flesh barbarian has been neglected
to keep it simple - lou reed would not wear track pants and high tops.
to me, 'street' and 'rock' is one thing. i see a lot of the west coast beach culture and thrash metal / skater-style in RO (but maybe that's just cause i grew up listening to that stuff...)
i'd REALLY hate for RO to start doing actual lou reed rock-grandpa wear.
the street/sportswear rick i was talking about is to me more like sportswear influenced by actual sports (high tops, track pants, gym shorts, long tee's). its gym inspired. in the same way that a lot of streetstyle fashion is influenced by hip hop culture/fashion which is influenced by sports (basketball, football). rick spends a lot of time in the gym.
the glam grunge rockstar is more decadent, indulgent, raw, luxe and tattered. boots, denim, leather, layers, black, dark shadow, and more leather.
totally different to me.
dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective
