how much are we paying for said sub-converse?

they are £450.00 ($711.00). Also, they are nothing like converse (from experience), obv. And they are nice to wear with non-RO stuff too, due to proportion, as most of RO is slightly/majorly oversized and can easily look awkward when not fully head to toe. In other words, these have a full right to exist alongside the the mainline ones.

I want them, but it is true that the soles are a lot less hard-wearing even than $50 Converse. It's just a fact you have to deal with.

It's funny how public opinion (sz, that is) sways your opinions. When I first saw Rick's sneakers I was slightly appalled...they reminded me of something SWV would have worn in the early 90's. Then I saw the price, in combination with the reports of their durability, and I wondered what the fuck everyone was doing with their money. Since seeing them more and more (and more), a few of the styles have appealed to me more than others, but still not cohesive with my lifestyle to warrant a purchase. Now that more "cost effective" options are becoming available, and slightly slimmer styles, I find myself wanting a pair.
