Heh, that is wackadoodles when you put it like that.
Sometimes we're lucky to own great pieces that end up getting pushed to the backs of our closets for one reason or another. I've found that even when the fit is spot-on but we don't reach for a certain item, the issue lies in its inability to 'fit' us in some emotional capacity, whether we can put our finger on it or not. Something invariably feels "off" every time we put it on, so we take it off – and don't reach for it like we do our other things.
Without going full-out leather-couch-psychoanalytical about this LBD, I'll just say that having it in the ivory colorway, especially in the fabric it was done in, would have lent it the ethereal quality apparent in the first pic, yet missing from the second. Maybe that's what I was hoping for, and it never met that desire.
Hardly a woe is me situation though. I'm aware of how fortunate I am for being able to simply own such pieces, and that fact hasn't escaped my gratitude.
And Lowrey – this is the Burt I keep in my own collection. I, too, pull mine out for such flagrant fashion gasps.

Well put. I have some items that I never wear, are for no specific reason something I shouldn't be wearing, but never leave the closet. Those are the items I have the hardest time parting with too. I have a pair of Rick cotton pants.
