I think that was the most sensual yet world-weary unzipping of a bomber I have ever witnessed. To me this is trashy but I guess for the Hong Kong (read mainland Chinese considering their main customers) market, they don't necessarily have the same reference point to the Rick Owens as a westerner would. We might look at some of these clothes and see a take on LA glam rock n roll etc whereas I suspect the HK market looks at Rick and sees #LUXURY, #OOTD. It's interesting to see how different cultural reference points shape how the clothes are presented and defined.

Also Nickefuge, it is rare to see the SA in the flagship shops in HK wearing that brands clothes. There seems to be a uniform of black shirt, black pants, black laceups. I've wondered if it was to do with their pay but I didn't want to be rude and ask them that

If you're in Venice for the Bienale this week, make sure you swing by the barge on Certosa Island. I was there earlier in the week - it's a lovely place and forms a nice contrast to Venice and the madness there. It's on until Friday.

Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

from what i've heard, the HK rick store is actually owned/operated by I.T and hence the staff is theirs as well. so no funky transsexuals or anything too deviant (including wearing weird clothing) allowed, i guess.

          f. what did they serve you on the barge?

Food looked amazing but didn't have any. Great crowd of usual suspects.

With a little contribution from yours truly.

By upending sartorial gender norms and cultivating his own fashion universe, the designer’s signature aesthetic has become the new normal for stylish guys.

(Shrugs) sometimes there is good writing there amid a lot of fluff. Both articles they have interviewed me for were good. Actually I don't think anyone has done a better article on the fashion fora than the one Jian DeLeon wrote for complex.

A nice article on Rick Owens I found today at complex.com. Eugene Rabkin is also mentioned.
