Was thumbing through the new Restoration Hardware source book that came in the post today.

Of all the coffee table books they could've used to jazz up a room display...

LMAO. Haven't seen anything this misplaced since Nick Wooster told me how much they love Rick at Bergdorf Goodman.

Funniest was the double-take I did when I spotted it. I imagined the idea of it saying something like "book, stylist's own", and snickered.

But I don't think it's all that out of place, really. I have a monstrous old distressed leather couch from them that I adore. It even pre-dates my first Rick leather (gasp!). Besides, wasn't it you who directed mrbeuys to RH to replicate those floor-sweeping curtains of Rick's he was lusting for?

Off topic: I can't get over how low the sofa seat is, function and form fail there.

Yes, they are good for curtains. But, overall I experience very violent fantasies every time I see the crowd that it caters to. Fun fact, RH CEO was #12 on the list of highest paid executives in the US in 2013. Not too shabby, flinging overpriced "edgy chic" at the bourgeoisie.

Is it the same CEO who got canned for hooking up with a hot young RH sales girl? And then came back? The dude always pictured in a leather jacket? I don't know why they asked him to step down; didn't seem like such a huge offense to me..

Was about to reply to your 'bourgeoisie' comment with something along the lines of how RH has carved out a nice niche by catering to a public with high tastes but that by and large lacks the imagination and/or know-how to source the original furniture styles the company so successfully replicates, yada yada yada, but then realized I just didn't give enough of a shit to go on about it.

Especially when posting some summer-lovin' Rick would be much more fun.

                          Thanks for posting those Interest1

Those shoes from MOOG and TUNGSTUN are awesome. I hope there is a reissue of the trainers from MOOG.

That first photo from CITROEN looks so damn good everything fits together so perfectly.

DamageX - Yeah, those kicks are good. The only RO trainers that have ever appealed to me are the earlier Geo's. I do like the thin-heeled Tungsten ankle boot I posted above, but other than that, I don't look to Rick for footwear. It's always been the bottom-rung of all his collections, IMO. The '101 variations on the Turbo' was the beginning of the end for me. Just say no to wedges!

                                I, of course, disagree.
Men might get the turbo wedge back btw.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.
