Re: New Avantindietro for feet
/\ Sweet!! Thanks for the post Joey.
I don't know if this is an inappropriate post for the thread, but here is the leather av shirt. This is the gray and to state the obvious it was done in black as well. I'm wearing 2 shirts underneath as well, so the fit may look kind of funny.

Re: New Avantindietro for feet
I like it DHC but its the pinch stitchwork that concerns me with Avantindietro stuff. I've seen it come apart a number of times. I'd just be afraid that if I was wearing the leather shirt and slung a heavy bag over my shoulder it may pull it apart you know?www.AlbertHuangMD.com - Digital Portfolio Of Projects & Designs

Re: New Avantindietro for feet
i like these, as well as the leather shirt and the reversible double layer l/s tee the best from the line...i dunno i haven't been able to get into this as much as I loved C Diem/LMaltieri... somehow i feel the lines are a bit too clean cut for the textures of the clothes. It's interesting in that it feels like a futuristic, forward looking version of his previous arte povera style, but it just doesn't click that right for me.

Re: New Avantindietro for feet
I agree with you Matt. It's the same feeling I get with it all as well.
The construction, concepts and details are mindblowing to say the least. Pure mastery.
I just find it hard to bring into my wardrobe (the pants are the exception... along with the softer shirts). A lot of what I've seen/handled/sold has been less CDiem-ish which is of course Altieri's goal of evolution but I'm still stuck with the old school bein cool.www.AlbertHuangMD.com - Digital Portfolio Of Projects & Designs

Re: New Avantindietro for feet
I hear ya Albert. I have a cotton shirt that has "popped" in a couple of places and its disheartening. I will say that I do have another which has been exposed to much heavier wear that has held up surprisingly well and is easily one of my most favored shirts. Admittedly, the fact that I said "held up surprisingly well" for a shirt that I threw down some major coin on is all wrong. I think the leather is one that will definitely hold up to some wear, but at $3700+, its not a risk one should be willing to readily take.

Re: New Avantindietro for feet
the thing about LMaltieri line was even a cotton shirt (like the 'Petrol' shirt) had a very distinctly Altieri feel to it that was in line with the rest of his looks, whether it was t-shirts, leather, boots or whatever. I saw a white cotton shirt with the altieri style buttons from the new line, it was over 100K yen but it was so basic and i can't say the quality of the fabric blew my mind either....
if he's gonna keep going down this route, i'd actually like to see him produce some innovative stuff in terms of tailoring, like what CCP has done with suits. I think that's a more logical progression down this train of thought than the old Altieri stuff in just a new silhouette.

I'm inclined to agree with you Albert. There are couple of Avantindietro pieces in my closet that I love, love, love! But definitely overshadowed by my favored Linea and Carpe pieces.
If you like the new boots and haven't tried them on, its not fair to make an assessment on them though. They are much better on, much the way Augustas are but on steroids, ya heard?Originally posted by Faustfuck you, i don't have an attitude problem.
