I've added a picture which shows the inside flap. When I first received this, I wasn't sure if it was leather. But it is. I've been using it daily for the last 6 months and have no issues about durability.

I went to Eastern Market today and what really caught my eye was a type of leather treatment I had not seen before. They had wallets in a lasered cow leather, deep red/burgundy colour. The leather had lasered lines (almost shred/scratch looking) running along it.

The lasered lines revealed a colour like the reverse side.
Anyway, this made the leather much softer than the regular smooth cow leather, it felt almost like a heavy fabric.
Although I wasn't sure how the leather would hold up over time with heavy use putting in and taking out of pockets, especially for slim pants.

Yeah that looks similar but not quite as slashed as the one at EM. The deep dark red with the lighter shades from the slashing was just beautiful though.

Raw, it's a laser-slashed leather indeed, some other designers used it as well, I suppose all buy from the same tannery.

Guys, is it acceptable to contact the designer / atelier and ask for a custom order?

There is a sick MA+ coat that i need in size 50, it's pretty expensive and no one else has it. Was thinking of asking the designer directly to tailor a new one.

What's the proper etiquette on this?

I have this exact same wallet by LV. It's lasted me over 10 years. They called it Epi leather. It's absolutely amazing! Mine's in rough shape now but such good material.

Mine did by 1/2 - 1 size. But washing it in 40degrees seemed to bring it back by 1/2 size.
