The work of Helmut Lang

Re: The work of Helmut Lang
Thanks for starting the thread Faust, I've been waiting to get some time to add to it. I'm a huge Helmut Lang, it was the first designer label I bought and it's what really got me into fashion. One of the best things about Helmut Lang was he struck the perfect balance between having enough detail and innovation to make something unique but still making clothes that are wearable (for the most part) and the fit was always great which is important when you are experimenting with other aspects of the garment. Here are some of my favorites:
I think this was my favorite collection, I'm really tempted to order those chaps from yoox if they get any cheaper, but I'm not sure I could pull them off.
Love this bomber, the detail is fantastic and I love his signature asymmetrical arm thing:
And just for fun, it's Ashton Kutcher in a very old HL show!

[quote user="Faust"]that spacecat tshirt is on my most wanted list. thanks for the menswear photos, casem.

Is that right? I got one from the outlet for $70...and then sold it for about $500 on Ebay if I remember it right. That was more than a year ago though...I was surprised how much it sold for...and happy of course.
Thank youfor the photos everyone. They look great.

Re: The work of Helmut Lang
As promised, here are some more pics I saved. Sorry they're random, I didn't organize them in anyway when I saved them, but I could probably recall the season for a specific pic if anyone wants to know. I'll upload more later, but right now it's a slow process putting them in photobucket then posting them.

Re: The work of Helmut Lang
As promised a long time ago, here are pics of my crazy HL pants. Sorry for the bad quality, poor camera+shaky hands+shitty mirror=bad pics. I've only worn them out once and I would like to more. Suggestions on how to wear them? I did a white shirt w/ skinny tie ala Lang before, I'm also seeing something black and drapey on top but I don't own anything like that. I probably wouldn't wear them with this Cloak shirt, but it's what I had on at the time.
and the butt:

Re: The work of Helmut Lang
There is a big hose coming out of the pants which you can plug into a hole in the leg, I guess they were inspired by some type of flight pant. It turns out the hose is really annoying because I can't wear any jackets (unless cropped) or longer shirts without the hose pushing out the jacket and making it look funny.
