i have a penchant for resurrecting old threads like these but i cannot mention enough about my love for jurgi persoons. i really wish he is around and still making clothes. i look back at all the images posted here and i don't get a sense of them being from any certain time/place and that is why i like his designs so much. and thank you faust and jurgi for the kind contributions!
here, i have scanned pictures from i-D magazine. smells like team spirit. as usual, you can click on the thumbnails for the larger scans.

the good old days... i can still feel the boundless energy of these belgians of the early 1990s... even dries had an edge back then (i still have a vest by him in belgian linen + embroidered back; and am still wearing one of his belts from back then)... the beautiful beautiful fabrics, the exquisite handiwork, the unique perspectives... i remember being completely blown away when i first 'encountered' the belgians at louis boston in the early/mid 90s... albeit already familiar with the japanese... the subtle sensibilities and materialities were just such a far cry from the usual crap out there, then and now...
does anyone have any images of dries' early years?
while being nostalgic... anyone remember MATSUDA by Yukio Kobayashi? used to be my absolute favourite designer...
and of course there was good ol' romeo gigli...
oops, veering off-topic...

Just seeing this thread...Damn. He's still better than 90% of the designers working today...really one of the few originals...
Anyone try the contact on his website?
