Originally posted by syte.comYohji Yamamoto Inc has started its new brand “s'yte” on September 1, 2011. Quite experimental for a fashion maison, it is website-only brand.
Anyway, an image from an old roll of film - post-V&A retrospective, a closing shot:

i dont know i would have to disagree. I do think that Yohji has a clear vision and in some way it could be seen as a lack of creativity but i dont perceive it as such. I think that yohji is working with these same forms and silhouettes because he has found no way yet to perfect them, nor will he ever. As much as they may have been used throughout his body of work there is no such thing as perfection in fashion and i see Yohji as a designer less interested in making something "new" or "fresh" every season but rather as a person constantly trying to perfect the vision of what he wants his clothes to be.what is black?
an absence, a presence, a mood, a mantle.

i will accept that i have misused perfection in regarding yohji. I guess it is more that i have always seen his clothes as having a steady vision that he values rather than one that he simply feels safe using.what is black?
an absence, a presence, a mood, a mantle.

Regarding menswear, since 99 he's delivered his best collections ever, being aw08 ss00 ss12 extremely good if I may mention my favorites.

Spent a good amount of time in the fitting room at a local Yohji stockist recently; absolutely in love with ss12, but now also broke.
p.s. wire.artist, hakama pants are indeed a winner.
