They still make nice clothes at Margiela and I think their continuous raiding of the archives isn't bad per se, it is just that no one there has found a way to push things further or into a new direction while staying in line what MMM used to be about. The gazillion collaborations don't help much in that matter either.
As much as I do appreciate and admire Galliano's earlier work (at least for Dior, he has always been good under his eponymous line), him at Margiela is too bizaar to even imagine. Just think about his penchance to make a grand entrance at the end of every runway show and then think about how things are at MMM in that regard....mind blown.
I wonder if there is even a place for someone like Galliano in todays fashion 'world'. There isn't much room for showmanship anymore.Last edited by Verdandi; 10-03-2014, 10:58 AM.lavender menace

Martin's not ever coming back, so with that avenue closed, who could sensibly fill the job?
Someone brilliant, but someone who really does not want to be out front under the spotlight.
If Galliano is a reformed character, he has probably hung up his pirate suit, and wants to work and be appreciated without the direct glare of public scrutiny of his person.
I think it is an inspired fit.spinning glue back into horses. . .
