Hedi Slimane to YSL - OFFICIAL

First time round Hedi was unburdened with expectation. He gained momentum over a number of collections. Also, news moved and opinions formed at a slower pace. Today, the risk is that it is all over before it begins.
This roll out looks very well thought out. The most committed constituency are the retailers, so give them the exclusive.
Phase two will be interesting. Who are the opinion formers in this new media age? Do you identify and work them, or do you just get the product right out there?
I'm guessing the latter.spinning glue back into horses. . .

saw this picture today referring Hedi changing the branding to just Saint Laurent....I don't know why I would expect anything different but also changing it all to Helvetica. Really, his work design and photography work has been the same thing since early 2000s, and starting to really think his fashion work won't be different either. At the time it was great, brilliant work, but I just don't think it'll work out still for too long.

So, judging by this I am not expecting any surprises. Which makes sense - why would we expect a surprise from Hedi, whose aesthetic is clearly set.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde
