love the sole, but look weird as a low top with the oversized tongue and everything.

i really don't like these. for me they are a combo of the worst elements of adidas and rick.

i think the thing adidas got wrong that nike got right was the design of the soles on their running shoes. they are way too over designed and gimmicky and downright ugly. for example:











and this new collab shoe is just a further extension of that. kind of inspired by this one^^

and with rick i am not a fan of the oversized tongue. for me it seems out of proportion with the rest of the shoe, in a showy hip hop kind of way.



which can also be said about the lacing, which is very RUN DMC "my adidas".

i think i wouldve liked them a lot more outside of being introduced during a ss runway presentation. rick's elaborations and sometimes off putting reinterpretations of his footwear is actually a favorite part of his shows for and this running shoe nearly makes me feel cheated that it was the only footwear presented. you cant come off of a furro lego manga boot to these without leaving your audience feeling somewhat slighted. hopefully this is the last we see of rick's collaborations and it's back to business as usual for fw14.
