appologies for the bump.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good Fashion Marketing books? i've been researching online but its difficult to tell through a fewpage previews. if anyone has any advice that would be great.

some great books have been said. i accually have the Sample: 100 Fashion Designers book and Visionaires: Interviews with Fashion Designers bookand they're both amazing. i'm thinking about Yohji Yamamoto: Talking to Myself, Yohji Yamamoto's Notebook on Cities and Clothes DVD, and the two Young Belgian Fashion Designer books. and assuming from above statements i won't be dissapointed.

FYI. Strand in NYC got a handful of copies of Carolyn Evans's Fashion at the Edge: Spectacle, Modernity and Deathliness for $25 or so. I highly recommend - it's very SZ, I think. Interesting to read and amazing photos.

Just checked, it is also out on Amazon. I guess the paperback version just came out, because I checked a few weeks ago, and it wasn't there, with the hard cover version out of print.

Fashion at the Edge and Sample are both in the post for me.

Are there any good books that are in any way related to Julius?? Or anything of that sort? Anything stocked at atelier? Or any book that explores this emerging aesthetic in mens fashion??

Also- why don't Phaidon do for designers what they did with the Contemporary Artist Series? That would be great.

I managed to get a copy while I was in the Yohji flagship in Aoyama. There was a display copy sitting on a glass table in the top floor (women's level) so naturally I enquired. 19,000 Yen. I was so happy. Picked up no. 4996 of 7000. It seems the first five hundred copies were also signed by Yohji. The SA told me they had a few more copies (unsigned) in storage.

One volume has pictures and descriptions (in Japanese, English & French) of his collections going back to the 80s.

The other volume is thicker has contains drawings and paintings by Yohji accompanied by Japanese text. French and English translations are provided at the back.

No, only Rick Owens is obnoxious enough to charge such money. It was $130 at the time of publication. Out of print now.
