So, Galliano hired a Jewish lawyer to represent him. Grand.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

Maybe they were all just looking for an excuse; Dior was looking for an excuse to fire him, retailers were looking for an excuse to stop selling his crap, and Italians were looking for an excuse to buy more DSQUARED. Who knows?ENDYMA / Archival fashion & Consignment

i agree with mike. i think dior was ready for him to go, they jumped on tisci in a nanosecond. if they had just canned him and went after someone else they would've gotten ripped for no reason. personally, i think tisci is about to do some of his best work and i like him at dior over galliano any day.

I feel the exact same way about Tisci, he is really talented. I was never into Galiano's work anyway.
Also, read about the rumours of Stefano Pilati joining Dior today in the uni newspaper...ENDYMA / Archival fashion & Consignment

Here is the result of Galliano's trial - he doesn't even have to pay the fine:
British fashion designer John Galliano, who has admitted racially abusing a couple in public at a Paris restaurant, has been given suspended fines of 6,000 euros (£4,250).
The designer, fired by the Dior fashion house over the incident, said he had no recollection of the events and denied being racist.
Mr Galliano apologised for his behaviour at a one-day trial in June.
He blamed drug and alcohol addictions for his outburst.
Prosecutors had asked for a fine of 10,000 euros ($14,000; £8,800).
The BBC's Christian Fraser, in Paris, says the greatest punishment has been the damage to Mr Galliano's career; he was sacked by Dior after his arrest and the cost to his reputation has been far bigger than any fine a court can impose.
