Rick Owens interviews Kris Van Assche in Interview mag

Kris Van Assche the Belgian designer on his long road to reinventing Dior Homme, why his fastidiously laid-back, luxurious vision for menswear belies an inner fury, and how he escaped the shadow of a phenomenon

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I find KVA's perspective on his first years at Dior quite true in a way, although he did design some really bad stuff. Rick's comments on his parents in the end kind of freaked me out, it seems to me like a 50 year old should have found some sort of "peace" in matters like this, but what do I know..

hmmmm that was actually a cool and short read , i like it . its sorta interestin to me that kris knew how poopy his early dior stuff is cos i always thought designers lived in some protective bubble where everyone around them was like " yaaaa its awesome , they love it " but he seems to know ppl didnt love it

The best thing about that.....were the images.

Rick should stick to what he is good (re; excellent) at.

that interview felt uncomfortable... as if they didn't really want to talk to each other.

That was a great interview. You get two guys who both work with clothes to interview and they talk less about the clothes they make and more about family, co-workers, spouses and travel. Can't believe Rick is going to be 50, he looks great for his age.

the best part of the interview is kunk's characterization of it.
