It's even worse when regular sales start at H&M and girls storm into the shop to get a $10 dress discounted down to $5... seriously, why bother...

Watch, the shit for H&M is better made then the mainline shit.

I worked in a store for a couple months part-time that sold Cavalli and Versace and couldn't believe how shitty the construction on most of it was.

The people that bought it were worse though.

What kind of shitty construction are we talking about?

Are you referring to this line? I have a few pieces (shirts, tops and footwear) from the Plokhov period FW09 - FW10 and their quality is top notch, if not impressive. I really think Plokhov made a noteworthy effort to make Versace work. But I couldn't care less about the diffusion lines or even the mainline, really, given how shitty the last two collections have been. S

The construction I'm talking about is more with women's and some menswear. With some of the dresses the seams seemed to be too tight and bunched up on more then a few. The menswear the fabric was horrible (but they never picked from the Plokov collections) and 1200 hundred for a sport coat with fully fused canvas and machine stitched armholes is ridiculous to me.

But that's just my opinion and maybe I'm a bit bias 'cause I hated selling it. I begged for the Plokov pieces, but the owners didn't understand it.

Well on the bright side it was one retail job that I had that I didn't want to buy anything from the store.

from every past hm x designer collection i've learned one thing, don't expect too much more for the mens offering than a rehashed trench, printed button down, and a mens suit that doesnt differ too much from current h&m suits. it will be interesting to see if versace decadence is accurately translated to an h&m market or if they fail to excite just like each designer before them sans cdg to some effect(sp?).

from my experience the quality of these collaborations is not very good.
it feels like a normal h&m piece with a different label and a much higher price tag. my advise pay double and buy the original made in europe that lasts longer than 1 season.
