So nice. Casual clothing at its best.

Pre-collection, huh. Well, it all looks beautiful I must say.

Is there any word on whether Margiela is still designing for the label? I thought he'd basically retired, but the last two seasons have been really fantastic.

This is some of the better post Margiela Maison I've seen. I think that backwards is the best direction for this label. The past few years have been a weird hybrid of gimmicky and too refined. Very happy to see these looks.

Personally, I like the more gimmicky post-Margiela Margiela. No doubt this collection is beautiful, but it's too highly wearable, if you get my drift. This collection would easily be mistaken for something done by other brands, ie. Celine, Givenchy etc. I find myself liking Margiela more when I need time to digest the clothes.

Also that fur looks horrible - and I am really not saying that from an ethical stance, I don't care if it's fake or sustainable, it just doesn't look good :p
No, ma'am, these are Margiela archives, plain and simple.

What do you mean, "any word," - he retired a year ago.

Shapes are mostly old Margiela, colour palette is typical MMM. Sure they've borrowed during their history but this is still MMM DNA. I like it although it lacks a touch of new twists (something that MMM would bring).

That's what I was asking. I didn't know that was official; the last news I'd heard was that he was 'only designing for special projects' or something similar but not that he was officially retired.

I like what they did with the hair.
