i think i'm the only person who thinks this is a bulky assortment of unpleasing silhouettes with overly loud, unflattering colors. off the soapbox...i do like the shape of the shoes however.

I feel this is an abuse of craftmanship. Hipster couture at its worst.

Really? I am by no means a fan of Proenza, but I think this was very good.

i should clarify that i dont think its an abuse of craftsmanship, there clearly are skilled hands behind it, however, it weighs me down just looking at it. the underlying folklore vibe is the only thing i take away from it that doesnt drag me down. its very heavy handed.

I'm with Faust on this one. The first half reminds me of Balenciaga's aviator collection in 2004, which I absolutely love. They probably look bulky because of the styling, but if we take the pieces apart they'd be a lot more gorgeous. To say that I adore this collection would be an understatement but maybe I'm a little biased towards the Asian influence too.

It's too bad they're getting more expensive every season.

i couldnt put my finger on it at first but now that you mentioned it, this is the reference i'm reminded of...but in living color.
you're happily changing my point of view.

Yeah I see nods to Rick Owens, Margiela and Balenciaga. Which makes it nice for sure, but it seems like a jump for Proenza Schouler to me. These are tough WOMEN all of a sudden with a bit of attitude and not the ladylike/girly stuff i'm used to seeing from them.

Of course you do. I see some nods to Poell and Paul Harnden. Of course CdG has done it all, so why bother...

Hmm, i'm not saying it LOOKS JUST LIKE RICK OWENS, so they should just go close up shop!
Just noticing a bit of a stretch for them in this collection. I'm sure i'm not the only one. I believe this stretch is a factor in this collection being posted here in this first place.
And I don't see how your smarmy-ness makes my observation less valid.

i really like the hair/make-up here. looks like they didn't do either but of course they probably did a lot. the subtle eyeshadow and soft hair with messy parts coupled with the severity of the garments is nice.
