            Very real. Sorry.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

Don't like what Hedi is doing to the SL legacy. I don't care about rock and roll sheek, I want elegance. This Hedi steered shipped seems selfish, commodified and soulless to me. A brand wanting to represent something but seems as fake as the hollywood punk rock glam culture it's personifying

Blackman I partially agree with you but i have a different point of view.

Hedi was already working for YSL and at that time the brand was innovative and fashionable, elegant but unconventional, as Hedi wants.

I critic the work of Hedi only for the fact that at first from YSL and then with DIOR HOMME was really innovative, now he's only proposing what he had already done in the Maison Dior!

he doesn't seem to have evolved since the early 00's, that's my main beef with him. like all the rockers in his campaigns are washed outs who were relevant like a decade ago at least. if you do youth, you have to address the young

^ or those who are trying to recapture it. After all, they're the ones with money, by and large.

I agree with your second statement completely.

I know those are the ones with the purchasing power but there's few things worse in my book than old farts hanging on to their youths and refusing to grow up (40 year old skaters come to mind, but there are other incarnations of course)

                        Why, galia?

I do think in the developed affluent Western society 30s are the new 20s :-)

If I remember correctly, Hedi designed the Daft Punk "outfits" for one of their tours around 06-07, with numerous photos of them in DH leathers.

Hedi really does need to find some new muses... with the way it's been going I fully expect to see Justice x SLP in the next few months.

Does he need to find new muses to keep SL current as a label? Because if we accept that his design is an expression of the world in his head, than it makes sense that he uses as muses people whose work he loves. (And given his age, those muses make sense.)

I mean, no one is asking Ann Demeulemeester to stop loving Patti Smith and PJ Harvey.

                            That darn authenticity again!!!

Demeulemeester is selling fidelity to a specific aesthetic, sort of a long friendship and affinity, Slimane is selling youth and rock&roll, wtf are all those irrelevant people doing here?
Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

Who would be relevant then? An honest question, cause I don't know. Actually, I don't know if rock is any longer relevant in selling an aesthetic. It seems that the rappers have successfully coopted that power today.
