It's like Givenchy and Comme had a bastard child. I don't know...

it's referencing an extremely british thing that might not appeal to anyone who isn't into 50's edwardian revivalism and/or early westwood.

i kinda dig it, precisely because it will go well with cdgh+. thinking there might be some dress shirts and mohair sweaters in there with my name on them.

I get the references but I have no visceral reaction to it. I disagree that it doesn't have history, but the mash-up doesn't make for a better story.

Complete tangent but I saw the YSL movie tonight, and I'm pretty sure the the costumes are the original creations from YSL's shows from back in the day. It's work that was done 40 years ago that can still be engaging today.

Don't know I could say the same of this collection.

I'm also on the fence...it does seem a bit 2-dimensional to me.

I'm fond of the use of photo-real imagery on the trench (in look 3). In fact, the storyline became evident to me *because* of the images they chose to incorporate, even though the use of striping/plaid/kilt-like slacks ought to have tipped me off.

The thing I'm most interested in is the embroidered script on the jacket in look 16...I searched for better images and alternate views, but still have yet to figure out what is actually written on the piece, and how it may contribute to the historic value of the collection.
