Not impressed with the more-of-the-same aspect of it. However I am still really into it, the styling and all that shit.

It's all well styled and I'm quite in love with the leather jacket in the third picture, but I feel like it's lacking something. It might just be because I'm seeing this after looking through all the fall collections and can't help but think of Haider Ackermann specifically because of the similar stacking pants and length of the upper body. While Hourani is much more focused on horizontal and vertical details, it still feels oddly like Ackermann to me.

Spot on, Gerry. Haider Ackermann is exactly what came to mind (After Helmut Lang and Rick Owens, who he is probably influenced by).

been thinking about this a bit. not keen on a whole shiny outfit. however, i really love the pants here and in the collection or at least most of them.

are these leggings over pants/tights that gather at the bottom?

Wouldn't it be interesting to make a family tree of each designer's supposed influences?

Totally! Need to think about this.

then you might need to go back a thousand years, at least if we're talking about the granddad source of looks such as the shorts-on-top-of trousers look: just check out what they wear when performing traditional dance in India (Kathak, katakali, etc.).

we can stick with designers for this.

I am much more partial to the first collection, when the brand first surfaced it seemed like a breath of fresh air from the usual short leather jackets, oversized l/s, and draped cardigans look many designers are doing now (theres nothing wrong with this). However with this new collection it seems as if he can't do anything special or original that hasn't already been done. Everything looks good and goes together well its just not very new, I was slightly disappointed.
