Julius has always been too literal for my taste,
a pretentious aggression. Not surprising Armani
is ripping the red leather ...

But this doesn't change much at all. I have to
agree with pip, the draping looks really poor.
Are you afraid of women, Doctor?
    Of course.

Very well said, I know taste is subjective but Julius always has seemed to contrived for my tatste. With a little restraint and minimalism it could be a great product. BUT then again maybe the target market is looking for exactly this ?

Other than the leggings, I like most of the pants there, especially the long cargos. I feel indifferent about the tops, but the yellow leather looks surprisingly nice.

since this hasnt been posted, and you're all talkin about it

          Is that a holster?

Look like surgeons from a middle-eastern star trek movie.

It's impossible for me to judge without seeing pieces individually, but overall it looks lighter and less 'polyurethaney' - but I'm merely comparing to what little I've seen in person at Blackbird.
Bet it all comes in black, too.

(what is it they coated their S/S stuff with anyway? is it PU?)

            Leather is nice.

But the white draping is a little too mummy-ish. Separately, some of the pieces look promising though.

And as a side note- why isn't GQ covering this collection if they took the time to include it in that article? Don't want to revive such a strange subject, but it makes me wonder...
              Tim Blanks was there.

I also miss the more masculine/military influence of the recent seasons. Without that edge of masculinity a lot of the drapery looks too extreme. Some of those pieces really do look like costume play and the models like extras from Arabian Nights or extras from Return of the Mummy.
I can appreciate it in small doses but at some point, as a many, I have to ask myself, 'When does a 'shirt' become a 'blouse?'
I like shirts that have some drape to them but when there's excessive drape, it reminds me of curtains and tends to feel sloppy.
I'll admit there's some order to the drape chaos but I don't know if that can be achieved and maintained outside of a runway situation.

this is a runway situation though - it will look somewhat different on the rack.

Agreed with Mike. Let me be the first one to say that taken apart this collection is excellent.

By the way - are there skirts in this collection or are they just wraps?
let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.
